Formulation approach

Build a water-based system using mild surfactants
Combine surfactants to balance cleansing and skin tolerance
Use humectants such as glycerin to reduce dryness
Introduce a light gel structure to control viscosity
Keep surfactant levels moderate to avoid irritation
Maintain a skin-friendly pH (~5–5.5)
Finalise with preservation

Example formulation

Water - ~70%
Glycerin - 3–4%
Cocamidopropyl Betaine - 8–10%
Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate - 6–8%
Xanthan Gum - 0.3–0.5%
Citric Acid — q.s. to pH 5.0–5.5
Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (Preservative) - 0.8–1.0%

Notes

Avoid high surfactant loads. Add surfactants slowly to minimise foaming during production.
