INCI: Water (Aqua), Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol / CAS #:

A pre-hydrated hyaluronic acid solution used to support hydration in cosmetic formulations.

Key benefits

  • Easy to use
  • Easy to use
  • Hydration support
  • Ready-to-use

Behaviour in formulations

Hyaluronic Acid 1% Solution acts as a film-forming humectant, supporting moisture retention and increasing viscosity.

At higher levels, it can contribute to stringiness and thicker textures. As a pre-hydrated system, it provides consistent and predictable behaviour without the variability of powder dispersion.

Add directly to the water phase or during cool-down with mixing until uniform.

Use level considerations

Use Rate (Min): 1.0
Use Rate (Max): 50.0

  • Serums: 5–20%
  • Gels: 10–30%
  • Creams: 3–10%

Starter Use Rate: 5–20%

Hyaluronic Acid 1% Solution is used based on its dilution into the final formulation.

At typical use levels (5–20%), it delivers approximately 0.05–0.2% active sodium
hyaluronate in the finished product.

  • 5% → ~0.05% active
  • 10% → ~0.1% active
  • 20% → ~0.2% active

Higher levels increase viscosity and film formation rather than proportionally increasing hydration performance.

Formulation summary

This solution is designed to be added directly to the water phase of formulations.

It provides hydration and film-forming benefits without requiring dispersion or hydration steps. It can be used alongside other humectants and polymers to build layered hydration systems.

Quality notes

Prepared using low molecular weight sodium hyaluronate with controlled purity and molecular profile.

Pre-hydrated for consistent viscosity and dispersion, reducing variability associated with powder systems.
