Behaviour in formulations

Functions as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial system, helping to inhibit bacterial, yeast, and mould growth.

Caprylyl glycol enhances preservative efficacy while also contributing to formulation stability. Sorbic acid supports antifungal performance.

Add during cool-down phase (below 40°C) with mixing until uniform. 

Use level considerations

Use Rate (Min): 0.5
Use Rate (Max): 1.5

  • Serums: 0.8–1.0%
  • Creams: 0.8–1.2%
  • Cleansers: 0.5–1.0%

Starter Use Rate: 0.8–1.0%

This blend is typically used at 0.5–1.5% depending on formulation type and water activity.

At ~1%, it provides effective broad-spectrum preservation in most cosmetic systems.
